Adolescent and Youth Empowerment
India’s large adolescent and youth population faces challenges in health, education, skills, and employment, with many vulnerable to unpaid work, social taboos, and early marriage. Our work engages young people in climate action and leadership development, promotes awareness on health and rights, prevents child marriages, and supports their participation in local governance and dialogue with government officials.

ARPAN launched a transformative initiative to empower 600 adolescent girls across 60 villages in three clusters of Didihat block. This three-year programme addresses key dimensions of adolescent girls’ lives – leadership, education, skill development, health and sanitation, and awareness of constitutional rights. The initiative aims to cultivate leadership, enabling participants to advocate for their rights and engage with government officials to drive systemic change.
