Vision and Mission

ARPAN is a grassroots development Non Profit organization committed to building a just and equitable society. We have always been co-travelers with the most marginalized communities of Uttarakhand – working with the people, not for them. Our approach is participatory, collective, and inclusive, led by women and community members.

Vision
To contribute to a society grounded in gender equality, equity, and social inclusion, where women, girls, youth, children, and marginalized communities can access opportunities and lead lives of dignity.

Mission

To advance human rights and social justice through collective action by strengthening community institutions, nurturing local leadership, and enabling marginalized communities to access opportunities, resources, and decision-making spaces.

We work alongside women, adolescents, youth, tribal communities, and other vulnerable groups to strengthen their voice, agency, and leadership while promoting sustainable livelihoods, ecological justice, and democratic participation.

Goals

Promote Collaboration: To foster partnerships with institutions and networks, working together toward shared goals of gender equality and community development.

Raise Awareness: To enhance understanding among stakeholders and rural communities about the region’s holistic development and well-being.

Empower Women in Governance: To equip women within the Panchayati Raj system with information and resources to actively participate in local self-governance.
