ARPAN is a grassroots development non-governmental organisation committed to building a just and equitable society. We have always been co-travelers with the most marginalized communities of Uttarakhand – working with the people, not for them. Our approach is participatory, collective, and inclusive, led by women and community members.

To build a society rooted in gender justice, equality, and equity.
Mission
To advance women’s human rights through collective action by:
- Facilitating the formation of women’s collectives at various levels, and
- Strengthening women’s collectives and their leadership.
Goals
Promote Collaboration: To foster meaningful partnerships and solidarity with institutions and networks, working together to achieve our shared vision of gender justice.
Raise Awareness: To enhance understanding among stakeholders and rural communities about the region’s holistic development and well-being.
Empower Women in Governance: To equip women within the Panchayati Raj system with information and resources to actively participate in local self-governance.
