ARPAN

Adolescent girls have organised themselves in 30 villages, wherein more than 300 girls ranging from the age group 12 to 18 years have been addressing issues of their concern. A two days residential workshop was organised by Arpan, at its camp office campus, on gender justice and self-defence.

The major issues discussed by girls were:

• Early marriage of girls
• Dropout rate more in remote villages
• Pressure of household responsibilities
• Seclusion during menstruation
• Sexual abuse and molestation cases
